Stop Brown-Out Resets. Control Inductive Loads. Save Battery.
A standalone MOSFET turns on in nanoseconds. When your ESP32 or motor driver has large capacitors on the load, that instant turn-on creates a massive inrush current spike — dropping battery voltage and triggering a brown-out reset. The PureSwitch-22919 solves this with a controlled soft-start that ramps voltage over ~1–2ms instead of nanoseconds, keeping your power rail stable.
Built on the genuine Texas Instruments TPS22919, this module replaces discrete MOSFETs, gate resistors, and discharge resistors in a single 13×19mm footprint — with integrated short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and quick output discharge that a discrete MOSFET can never provide.

Why a Load Switch Instead of a MOSFET?
| Feature | Discrete MOSFET | PureSwitch TPS22919 |
|---|---|---|
| Switching Speed | Instant — dangerous for big capacitive loads | Controlled 1–2ms soft-start — safe for all loads |
| Logic Level | Often needs 5–10V gate drive | Works directly with 1.2V to 5V GPIO |
| Protection | None — burns if shorted | Thermal + short-circuit protection built-in |
| OFF State | Load may float or stay charged | QOD pulls output to 0V instantly |
| Leakage | High in cheap MOSFETs | Ultra-low: <1µA |
Quick Output Discharge (QOD) — Why It Matters
When you turn off a peripheral, residual charge on output capacitors creates “ghost voltages” — LEDs that stay dimly lit, sensors that don’t reset properly, and digital logic pins stuck at half-high voltage causing unpredictable behavior. The PureSwitch actively pulls VOUT to ground through 204Ω total discharge resistance, draining a 10µF capacitor bank in approximately 4.5ms. Your peripherals truly turn off.
Integrated Inductive Load Protection
The on-board Schottky freewheeling diode (D1) lets you directly drive relays and solenoids without external flyback diodes. When the load switch turns off, the Schottky clamps the inductive back-EMF spike — protecting your MCU and driving transistor from high-voltage damage. No external protection components required.
Ideal Applications
- ESP32 / Arduino peripheral power gating — prevent brown-out resets from WiFi module, display, or motor inrush
- Battery-powered IoT — <1µA shutdown leakage preserves battery for months
- Power sequencing — stagger enable signals across multiple modules for precise power-up/down order
- Relay and solenoid control — built-in freewheeling diode handles back-EMF
- Display and LED backlight control — QOD ensures clean off state
- WiFi and USB hot-plug protection — controlled rise time prevents inrush spikes
- Sleep mode power optimization — gate unused peripherals completely off
